A tribute to National Day! Dalian Jinzhong has successfully delivered the core equipment for China’s first 400,000-ton-per-year LAO unit (α-olefins).
Recently, Dalian Jinzhong successfully manufactured and shipped the first batch of core equipment for a 400,000-ton-per-year LAO unit (α-olefins)—specifically, the high-purity C4 product tower and the high-purity C6 product tower—developed for a leading domestic oil and gas producer. This milestone underscores Dalian Jinzhong’s significant contribution to helping customers break their long-standing reliance on imported α-olefins and advancing the high-end upgrading of China’s petrochemical products, marking a proud achievement with solid capabilities in celebration of the motherland’s anniversary.

In the Shell LAO unit project, Dalian Jinzhong undertook the fabrication of six high-pressure, thick-walled pressure vessels, including reactors and towers. Each piece of equipment represented an ultimate test of the precision and durability of “Made in China”: three reactors had diameters of 2,400 mm, with shell thicknesses exceeding 122 mm; during shell rolling, even the slightest deviation in curvature had to be meticulously controlled, and every weld joint required impeccable sealing and strength. The HPC4 product tower and the high-purity C6 product tower both measured 2,000 mm in diameter and over 70 meters in total length—equivalent to a 23-story steel giant—where every step, from raw material cutting to final assembly, demanded millimeter-level precision. Meanwhile, the BDL scrubber tower boasted a diameter of 2,900 mm, a shell thickness of 142 mm, and a total length of 17,000 mm; beneath its massive form lay a complex internal structure, placing extremely demanding, comprehensive requirements on the manufacturing process.

This delivery marks a significant achievement for Dalian Jinzhong as it accelerates its transformation from “product-centric operations” to “customer- and market-oriented strategies,” further solidifying its position with key clients. Looking ahead, Dalian Jinzhong will focus on the “four core pillars”—core technologies, core products, core customers, and core competitiveness—while adhering to a dual‑driven approach of market demand and technological innovation. It will also comprehensively implement its “five new strategies”: new quality, new fulfillment, new management, new technology, and new services, striving to provide customers with products and services that are “timely, accurate, high‑quality, and cost‑effective,” and working tirelessly to become a world‑class provider of full‑lifecycle services for petrochemical equipment.
